Itinerary
Upon arrival at the airport, our host will meet and assist you in transferring to the hotel. Note: Please arrive in Lima at 10:55 AM. For other arrival times, please add $25 per person for arrival transfers. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
| Overnight in Lima
After breakfast, you will be taken on a guided city tour through Lima’s streets and plazas. The tour starts at the Love Park in Mira Flores, with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean. After we proceed to the Huaca Pucllana, the ceremonial center of the Lima culture. Following, we will go to San Isidro, the financial center of the city, to visit the Huaca Huallamarca, an ancient pre-Incan shrine. Afterward, the tour moves on to the Main Square, where the Government Palace and the Town Hall are located. The tour finishes with a visit to the Cathedral and explores the San Francisco convent, built in the seventeenth century, to discover the mystery of its catacombs.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cusco (flight not included, to be booked by the agent). Upon arrival at the airport, our host will meet you and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. Optional: Tour of Cusco and Its Ruins: For the afternoon tour, you will visit the oldest continuously inhabited city in the western hemisphere, including important landmarks of enchanting Cusco, as well as the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puca-Pucara, Tambomachay, and the Sacsayhuaman fortress. It was once the center of the Inca civilization; modern Cusco is a delightful combination of Inca and colonial architecture. During the tour, you will visit Cusco’s Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, and the Plaza de Armas.

Begin your fourth day with breakfast before taking a train ride through the sacred valley of Urubamba to the “Lost City of the Incas”, Machu Picchu. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you will meet your tour guide at the station and go for a buffet lunch at the El Mapi Hotel. Following lunch, you will ride a bus that will take you to the Machu Picchu citadel. Take as much time as you need to admire these magnificent ruins. You have time at leisure before returning to your hotel in Aguas Calientes.

After breakfast, do as you please with your free time. You may rest or take another visit to the Ruins (at an additional cost). At the arranged time, return via train to Cusco, and you will be transferred from the train station via bus to the hotel.

After breakfast, you will visit the Pisac Indian Market and the Ollantaytambo Fortress. You will ride through the fertile countryside to the colonial village of Pisac. During your visit to the bustling marketplace, you will have the opportunity to bargain with the natives for many different types of Peruvian handicrafts and jewelry. Following lunch, the tour continues to the village of Ollantaytambo for a visit to its impressive Inca fortress. In the afternoon, return to Cusco.

After breakfast, enjoy the morning on your own. You will later be transferred to the airport for your departure to Lima (flight not included, to be booked by the agent) and your connecting international flight.
